Ripon junior Cameron Seefeldt finished as the individual runner-up in the Trans Valley League Midseason Tournament on Monday, helping her team place first.

She scored a 7-over-par 79 at Micke Grove Golf Links, and Ripon was the only team to finish with a sub-400 score. It topped the team standings with a 369. Hilmar took second with a 408 and was followed by Hughson (425), Ripon Christian (444), Escalon (485) and Sonora (522).

Grace Ortmann added a 94 for Ripon, which was good for fourth place overall. Eve Toledo contributed a 96, and Cailyn Young a 100.

River Islands 3, Turlock Christian 0

The Riptide (4-10) started Central California Athletic Alliance play with a dominant 25-5, 25-8, 25-8 home win.

Leighann Ruiz spearheaded a balanced attack with seven kills, Ada Morales and Corley Simoni each knocked down six kills, and Jaselle Cliatt added four.

Simoni also handed out 15 assists. Makaylah Kai Samoranos pitched in two kills and eight assists. Shreeya Rajpure chipped in three assists.

River Islands continue CCAA action tonight at Venture Academy (10-4).

Oakdale 3, Manteca 1

Visiting Oakdale (4-2 VOL, 12-8 overall) prevailed in this battle of Valley Oak League co-champions, 18-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.

Manteca (3-2, 10-4) was without injured outside hitter Ariceli McBroom.

Taimane Tu’uga tried to pick up the slack, finishing with 17 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Trinity Todd chimed in with 11 kills, five digs and three blocks. Na’ima Calderon had five kills and five digs.

Setter Katie Anderson amassed 25 assists and 11 digs. Maddie Nunes led the back row with 18 digs. Chloe Martin collected 12 digs, and Lana Bondoc added nine.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Lathrop 21, Livingston 0

The Spartans (5-0, 10-2 overall) ruled the Western Athletic Conference contest at Bennie Gatto Field for their seventh straight victory. They also notched their fourth shutout in that stretch.

Two-way contributor Faith Allen intercepted two passes and broke up another. She also had three catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Aviahna Calderon completed 16 of 24 passes for 172 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Aaliyah Thompson reeled in five passes for 30 yards and two touchdowns.

Marianna Coon collected five flag pulls. Sareah Reed pulled four flags and had two pass deflections.

Vanescia Rodriguez’s 10-yard run into the end zone was the difference. She finished with 28 yards and seven carries.

Ryleigh Race recorded three interceptions and two flag pulls for the defense.
