Scott Brooks is one of the area’s favorite sons.

He’s the reigning NBA Coach of the Year after leading the Oklahoma Thunder to a 50-win season and an eighth seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Brooks, who grew up in Lathrop and graduated from East Union High, also carved out a 10-year pro career.

At the Super Bowl Omelet Breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 6, at Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, the Manteca Mural Society and the Manteca Rotary Club will be raffling off four VIP tickets to the April 11 game at Arco Arena – or Power Balance Pavilion effective March 1 – to see Brooks and his Oklahoma Thunder play the Sacramento Kings.

“It’s a package valued at $4,000,” Tom Wilson of the Manteca Mural Society said on Wednesday.

The package was made possible by the U.S. Bank’s Commercial Division, one of the big supporters of the annual event. Included will be limousine service to and from Sacramento, four center court floor seats, and access to the VIP lounge before tipoff.

Only 300 tickets will be available for the drawing, with each priced at $20 or three for $50.

“This is a good chance for folks around here to see Scott Brooks – up close,” said John Flinn, who is the US Bank vice president / relationship manager.

For more information, call Tom Wilson at 988-1971, Dana Solomon at 456-1891, or Shawn Nussbaumer at 610-4099.

The fifth annual Super Bowl Omelet Breakfast takes place Sunday, Feb. 6, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. For $6 with advance tickets or $7 at the door you get an omelet made to order or pancakes.
