Back-to-school nights underway at various Manteca Unified sites

The back-to-school events at Manteca Unified’s elementary school sites will begin this week.

Tonight, Stella Brockman junior high students – specifically seventh- and eighth-grade students – will have open house from 6 to 7:30. Families of kindergarten- through sixth-grade students can meet teachers and staff on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, McParland will have a school-wide barbecue at the main site, 1601 Northgate Drive. From there, the families of K-8 students – included are those from the McParland Annex – will have a chance to visit the classrooms through 7:30.

The Sequoia School event for junior high students is also scheduled that day beginning at 6:30. The back-to-school event for the Sequoia K-6 is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In addition, August Knodt (6:30 to 8) and George Komure (6 to 7:30) will have open house on Thursday evening.

Other back-to-school events are as follows:

• Tuesday, Aug. 25 – Brock Elliott (5-7:30 including a kickoff barbecue), Golden West (6 p.m.), Shasta (5-7), and Neil Hafley (5:30-8).

• Wednesday, Aug. 26 – French Camp (5-7 p.m.) and Nile Garden (K-6, from 6:30 to 8:30).

• Thursday, Aug. 27 – Woodward (barbecue from 5:30 to 6, open house from 6 to 7), New Haven (5:30), Stella Brockman (junior high from 6 to 7:30, K-6 from 6 to 7:30), Lathrop (6 p.m.), Great Valley (6-7), Nile Garden (junior high, 5:30 to 8 o’clock).

• Tuesday, Sept. 1 – Lincoln (PTC dinner with open house planned from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.).

• Thursday, Sept. 3 – Veritas (barbecue begins at 5:30, open house starts at 6:30).
