St. Anthony School gearing up for table setting luncheon

Have a sundae on a Saturday. Be blessed by St. Joseph. Dine among the honeybees. Feel the breeze with Tommy Bahama.

These and more catchy phrases help make tuition fees more affordable for many students attending St. Anthony of Padua School in Manteca. The assistance come from money raised at the annual Table Setting Luncheon event, which has become quite popular since it was started four years ago. The next event will be held Saturday, March 19, in the school gymnasium.

They are still in need of “creative women who like to dress their tables… with a variety of table decors (such as) dishes, flatware, glassware, linens and centerpieces” related to their chosen theme.

Some of the table themes featured in previous years include Phantom of the Opera, Harry Potter, Easter, Mardi Gras, and Victorian. Visitors will enjoy their sit-down lunch amidst these “must-see” decorated tables. There will be drinks and dessert along with the buffet luncheon.

Along with the visual feast will be other attractions including big-ticket raffle prizes, a silent auction, with a table setting for eight as the top prize.

Anyone interested in taking on the creative challenge of a themed table, contact Debbie Kapina or Pam Kechenyi at the St. Anthony School office at (209) 823-4513.

Tickets to this event are $25 each.

These and other school fund-raisers such as the longstanding Holiday Luncheon and Crafts Faire during the holidays help “keep the tuition fee low” at the parochial school.
