The All-Star Olympics will be held next week at Sierra High’s Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

What’s more, the annual event scheduled for Thursday, April 14, will once again feature Special Education students from Manteca Unified and the San Joaquin County Office of Education

“Last year, we were only able to include Sierra High students,” said SHS Assistant Principal Anne Marie Shaw.

The reason for that was due to COVID-19. The All-Star Olympics was cancelled in 2020 due to the stay-at-home orders, returning last year but in a scaled down version.

Shaw said back then that event was manageable in size – necessary due to the mitigation of guidelines and safety protocols – and involved just Sierra High and SJCOE students.

The Adaptive Physical Education Department and SHS are once again in charge of organizing the games.

And like before, students from throughout the district and SJCOE will be back, promoting wellness, physical activity and inclusivity for all while engaging in some friendly competition with their peers.

The All-Star Olympics will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
