The entry deadline for the Manteca Fourth of July parade is Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m.
The annual event sponsored by the Sunrise Kiwanis starts at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4.
It starts on North Main Street at Jason Street across from the Golden West School.
The parade route goes down Main Street and then heads west on Center Street to Library Park.
There is no fee for entries unless they are equestrian. That’s because the service club uses proceeds from the annual Manteca Pumpkin Fair to cover the parade costs.
This year’s theme is “Best of the Old West”.
Entry forms — along with float requirements — can be accessed at surnisekwianis.org.
Submit your entry form by email at manteca4thofjulyparade@gmail.com or mail them to P.O. Box 752, Manteca, CA 95336 or drop them off at Oak Valley Community Bank 191 W. North St.
The parade Grand Marshal this year is the Combat Vet's Motorcycle Association Chapter 33-2.
They are a group of veterans that were in actual combat overseas.
They have fund raising events to support the community and do volunteer work.
One of their big events each year is adopting veterans’ families at Christmas.
