Kaiser Permanente of the Central Valley encompasses a service area of San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.

Included are the Modesto and Manteca medical centers.

Along with providing affordable health care and coverage for members and patients, Kaiser Permanente of the Central Valley uses a full range of assets to improve the heath of the communities it serves by providing grants and donations to address identified health needs.

On Monday, Kaiser entered into an on-going partnership with Thomas Toy Community Center. Senior Vice President / Area Manager Aphriekah Du Haney-West presented the $50,000 donation to go towards the new wellness center for teens to founder Bob Raymus and his fellow board members’ Chuck Crutchfield, Carol Davis, Steve Sousa, and Stephanie Huff.

“The (youth) is the future of who we are – our investment is they’re health and well-being,” said Du Haney-West.

Located at 602 E. Yosemite Ave., the Thomas Toy Community Center is a local teen-based (7th through 12th graders) facility aimed at intentionally creating a place where local teens can be safe, with a sense of community as well as being empowered to take ownership in developing social skills, life skills, and character-building skills.

The TTCC wellness center will be located next door in one of the front office spaces of the building.
