The funeral procession for Michelle Johnson became the parade she had wished for on Wednesday.

Michelle Johnson had always wanted a parade in her honor.

She received just that Wednesday following a celebration of her life held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home.

Johnson, 49, passed away on Oct. 6.

The procession from the Manteca funeral home to her final resting place was the parade held in her honor – her casket was placed on a  decorated trailer pulled by a truck with a banner: “Michelle’s Parade” – which traveled through town with friends and family following closely.

“She always wanted a parade,” said one of Johnson’s friends. “I think this is a pretty cool way to honor her.”
