Cameron Seefeldt and the Ripon girls golf team teed off the Trans Valley League season on Tuesday, putting together a comfortable 165-220 win over visiting Sonora.
Ripon was led by its junior standout, who was the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V runner-up last season. Seefeldt finished 2-over-par 33 for medalist honors.
Sophomore Grace Ortmann followed with a 42. The senior pairing of Brynn Daley and Cailyn Young contributed a 44 and 46, respectively. Emersyn Marques had the throw-away score of 52.
Ripon next faces Orestimba on the road Thursday.
GIRLS TENNIS
Manteca 7, Enochs 2
The Buffaloes played their first official match of the season Tuesday in Modesto, sweeping all six singles matches for the win.
Reigning Valley Oak League champion Hailie Kim downed Enochs’ Jocelyn Liu, 6-1, 6-1. Reina Ngo defeated Shekinah Cabuslay by the same score at No. 2 singles. Rae Limbago won the No. 3 match, 6-2, 6-0.
Saihaj Ghuman outlasted Lindsy Diaz in the No. 4 match. Paisley Coenenberg quickly dispatched Suditi Naik 6-0, 6-0, and Ekam Ghuman dominated at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
The Manteca No. 1 doubles team of Alyson Alvarado and Ziqi Huang was in the most competitive match, which fell in Enochs’ favor 7-6 (2), 706 (3). The Buffaloes won their lone doubles match at the No. 3 spot, with Cailynn Vu and Emma Furtado prevailing, 6-4, 7-6 (1).
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Gregori 3, River Islands 1
River Islands (0-5) is having to adjust without injured returning standout Ada Morales, and her absence was again felt on Tuesday in a 25-14, 19-25, 20-25, 17-25 loss to visiting Gregori.
Transfer Leighann Ruiz led the attack with 11 kills, while returning sophomore setter Corley Simoni divied out 24 assists. Jaselle Cliatt contributed three blocks.
Lathrop 3, Los Banos 1
The Spartans avenged their 2025 playoff loss with the 25-21, 25-9, 16-25, 25-22 at Greg Leland Gym.
Erin Chunn blasted 15 kills, while serving four aces. Siliana Fa’ataualofa contributed eight kills, eight digs and three aces. Breana Wiseman added two kills, a block, three aces and four digs.
Sariah Hilton registered 26 assists, 12 digs and three aces. Jadore Dixon also accumulated 12 digs and three aces.
JV volleyball
Los Banos 2, Lathrop 1
Lathrop came up short, 14-25, 28-26, 11-15..
Zakia Booker (three digs) and Ne’Myah Belion (ace, two digs) spearheaded the front row with three kills.
Cassidy Fa’ali’i produced seven assists and three digs. Ariannah Sheel led the defense with six digs.
Frosh volleyball
Lathrop 2, Los Banos 0
Lathrop held on for the 25-20, 27-25 sweep.
Marina Hernandez anchored the attack with four assists and three aces. Jessica Reff pitched with with six assists.
Kyla Swan (ace) and Ah’marae Dansby (ace, block) slugged two kills each.
