Police looking for teen in sex assault

A teenager grabbed a woman about 9:30 p.m. Monday night in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue – a block west of Manteca High School – and dragged her into a nearby alley where she was sexually assaulted.

Manteca Police Lt. Steve Schluer said a Hispanic male around 16 years of age was riding a dark colored bicycle prior to the assault. The victim described him as having a thin build and standing about 5-foot-3 in height. The woman was left in the alley after the attack, according to the lieutenant, as the teen rode away on his bicycle.  Schluer said he could not release the age of the victim or mention the extent of her injuries. The 100 block is near a strip of small businesses on Lincoln Avenue that stretch up to the 300 block of Yosemite Avenue.

Detectives are working on creating a composite sketch of the individual that may soon be released to the public.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manteca Police Department and Detective Daniel Peters at 209.456.8224.
