RIPON MAIN STREET DAY
Family-friendly street fair Saturday in Ripon

Mother Nature is cooperating to make this Saturday’s 37th annual Ripon Main Street Day a success.

The street fair — taking place Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — will feature highs in the mid-80s.

It takes place along Ripon’s picturesque, paver-lined Main Street complete with shade trees.

The street fair is the last fall event of its type in the Northern San Joaquin Valley.
Besides the usual vendors and food booths there will be an antique fair, career fair, live music, arts, crafts, an antique show, and entertainment.

It also includes a pet parade at 10 a.m.

Those venturing to the Ripon Main Street Day from nearby communities such as Manteca and Lathrop can make a day out of it. There are a variety of downtown Ripon dining options as well as an old-fashioned ice cream emporium and a wine bar.

As such the Saturday event is a good way to get a feel for downtown Ripon and lay the groundwork for trips to dine or even shop there in the coming months.

If you want to make it a drive through the country first and you’re from Manteca, you can head south on Airport Way, Union Road, Main Street, or Austin Road and turn right on West Ripon Road and it’ll take you straight to the Main Street event.

The Ripon Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event.
