The San Joaquin County Office of Education is hosting the Spelling Bee Championships next week.

The 25th annual event at SJCOE’s Wentworth Education Center, 2707 Transworld Dr., Stockton, begins Monday with the Elementary Division.

Students in grades four to six will be there beginning at 4 p.m., representing public and private school districts – locally, Manteca Unified, Ripon Unified, St. Anthony’s, Ripon Christian, and River Island, to name a few.

On Wednesday, the Spelling Bee puts the spotlight on seventh through ninth grade students in the Junior High Division, kicking off at 4 p.m.

The top two winners in each division will earn a plaque along with Barnes & Noble gift cards, and qualify for the state Spelling Bee Champion in May.
