The Manteca Cowboys varsity team held a 2-0 lead going into the third quarter but could not muster a touchdown the rest of the way in a 13-2 loss to the visiting Weston Ranch Jr. Cougars on Saturday at East Union.
C.J. Stevens (10 carries, 60 yards; two receptions, 22 yards) and Parker Rosa contributed to the Manteca offense.
Christian Ibarra led the Cowboys defense with eight tackles. Martin Sandoval and Micah Palencia made five stops each, Liam Kata-Heimuli, Rafel Nunez, Fernando Ceja, and Ivan Torres four apiece with three each for Ruben Cedana, Levi Kata-Heimuli and Tamatoa Macomber.
Jr. Buffaloes 33, Riverbank 0
Quinnie Dunbar scored two touchdowns Saturday to lead the visiting Manteca Jr. Buffaloes a win over the Riverbank Outlaws.
Dunbar (eight carries, 177 yards) scored on runs of 38 and 44 yards. Jayden Vasquez (nine carries, 88 yards) scored on an eight yard run with Max Rios scoring from 8 yards out and Gabe Torres plunging in from 3 yards out.
Grayson Keller (fumble recovery), Vasquez and Jaylen O’Campo made four stops apiece. Torres and Sir Fields each added an interception.

Manteca’s Alejandro Hernandez completed 10 of 23 passes for 87 yards.
Josiah Johnson, Adriel Cedano and Easton Barreras led the Jr. Buffaloes with nine stops apiece. Christian Porter and David Salinas added four stops apiece with three each for Hudson Green, Alexander Gomez and Aisea Kata-Heimuli.

Manteca’s Jayden Jourdan scored three touchdowns.
Jourdan (four carries, 105 yards) scored on runs of 5, 44 and 59 yards. Eliceo Colchado five carries, 42 yards), Steven Wynn (two carries, 11 yards; one reception, 35 yards) and Jacob Dettberner each scored a touchdown. Brock McCurdy was 4 of 6 passing for 75 yards and Jeremiah Williams added 44 yards on three carries with one reception for six yards. Gilbert Maldonado, Isaiah Gonzalez, Trenton Fitzhugh and Daniel Ramirez contributed to the offense.
Wynn, Mateo Mena and Isaiah Gonzalez led the Jr. Buffaloes offense with four tackles apiece. Christopher Antellas, Evan Hernandez, Aiden Reyes, Blake Rauchmann, Nova Fryer, Gio Riego, Daniel Ramirez and James Gordley contributed to the defense.

Manteca’s Brixxton Fryer and Carter Louis ran for a combined five touchdowns and 200 yards.
Fryer picked up 110 yards on three carries and Louis scored on both of his runs totaling 90 yards. Harrison Catalano and Kameron Edwards each scored on their lone carries and Rowan Dahle contributed to the offense.
Easton Franco returned a Jr. Buffaloes interception for a touchdown and Angelo Lopez forced and recovered a fumble.
Manteca’s Derringer Spangler made five tackles, Tahj Valentine four with three each for Dahle and Malachi Wright. Jameson Donnelly, Adrian Mena, Christian Cerna and Johnny Chambers contributed to the defense.

Manteca’s Amarion Sepulveda was on fire, completing 12 out of 13 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
TJ Milligan (25 yards receiving) caught two touchdown passes, Frankie Nieto one on a 20-yard reception and Isaac Gray on a 5-yard catch for the Jr. Buffaloes. Jayden Ontai (80 yards rushing) and Andrew Sakalia ran for two touchdowns apiece and Q.J. Holland scored once on a 50-yard run. Tyler Thomas made four receptions for 77 yards.
Manteca’s Griffin Gunnar made tackles, Jaxson Batterson and Andre Thompson four each with three apiece for Hudson Patton and Maison Hernandez. Andre Thompson recovered a fumble and Isaac Gray and Andrew Sakalia contributed to the defense.
