STOCKTON - The festivities start this Friday, June 7, as San Joaquin Delta College introduces its new "Summer Street Fair" event from noon to 8 p.m., every Friday through Aug.  9.

Conveniently located in Delta’s L-1 parking lot adjacent to Pacific Avenue and March Lane, the Summer Street Fair will compliment Delta's weekend Market at Delta College flea market but with a more festive atmosphere.

Fidel Cabuena, Delta’s Director of Auxiliary Services, says “Delta’s Summer Street Fair will feature live music, children’s activities and a beer and wine garden adjoining our music stage. This week’s featured performers are guitarist Travis Matsumoto from noon - 3 p.m., and Julio and his Jazz Trio from 3 to 6 p.m.”
Delta’s Street Fairs will also highlight a different theme each week - from car shows to jazz to “Food Truck Wars” judged by local culinary professionals.

Cabuena emphasizes, “It should be a great time for all, in addition to the opportunity to shop for produce, gifts, clothing and a full range of merchandise at great prices."

Vendors who would like to reserve a space for Delta College's Summer Street Fair events should contact Gena Expose, gexpose@deltacollege.edu, Charles Fregoso, cfregoso@deltacollege.edu or call 209-954-5560.

Proceeds from Street Fair events will help fund Delta’s Passport to College Program. Passport to College will provide free tuition to 5th graders who enrolled in the Passport program in 2006, who will attend Delta College in Fall 2014.
