STOCKTON — Pixie Woods will be celebrating its 56th birthday this Sunday.  The Pixie Woods Board of Directors will be serving cake to all park guests from noon to 2 p.m.

The park is now open for the season Thursday through Sunday, noon to 5:00 p.m. The cost for admission is $4 per person and children under 2 are free.  Rides are $2 per ticket, $5 for 3 tickets, or $8 for an unlimited ride wristband. Season memberships are also available for $57 per family.

Pixie Woods is billed as “Stockton’s own fairyland for the young in age and the young at heart.” But the low-tech children’s amusement park is more than just a place to kill times with the kids. It’s a place where parents and grandparents alike can delight in the youthful joy that comes with sliding down a slide from Neptune’s castle, bending to go through a castle just right for the pint-sized set, climbing over a real fire engine or throwing youthful energy into a platoon bridge crossing the lagoon so you can see just how far it’ll sway.

To reach Pixie Woods from Manteca, take Interstate 5 north past the Pershing Avenue exit and use the Monte Diablo exit. Turn left at the stop sign and follow the signs to Louis Park and Pixie Woods.

Throughout the summer special events are offered at the park.  Visit the website for a complete list of events, www.stocktongov.com, or call (209) 937-7366.
