Rid your homes of unwanted prescription drugs and prevent drug abuse by dropping those expired pill bottles into a collection container today at the request of the Ripon Police Department.

From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. the Ripon Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its sixth opportunity in three years to help prevent drug abuse and theft by dropping off their medications at the Ripon Police Department located at 259 North Wilma Avenue.

Through an arrangement with the UOP Pharmacy School, Ripon Police Department is also accepting used syringes from the community.

First Sergeant Steve Merchant said the service is without cost and will remain anonymous – no questions will be asked.  Anyone needing more information may contact detective Sgt. Terri Jensen at 599-0261 or tjensen@cityofripon.org.
