Love INC, a nonprofit organization in Manteca whose mission is to extend a hand-up to individuals and families who need the help, is holding a fund-raiser on Valentine’s Day.
Love In the Name of Christ is inviting the public to take part in the Valentine’s Day dinner and dance to be held Monday, Feb. 14, at the Chez Shari restaurant located on the second floor of the Manteca Community Golf Course club house.
For a donation of $30 per ticket, guests will be able to enjoy a buffet-style dinner, dancing to the music of DJ Robert Jackson with YR Entertainment, portraits by Chris Leonard of Leonard Studios in Manteca, plus a slew of big-ticket door prizes. These include dinners to area restaurants, spa items, collector items and jewelry, among many others.
There are two ways people can help in this fund-raiser. Purchase a ticket to the dinner and fund-raiser itself, or simply pick up a dinner box for just $11 at the drive-thru dinner that will be set up at Chez Shari.
The menu for the dinner-dance will consist of a quarter rosemary chicken, pork loin with mushroom rosemary gravy, mashed potatoes with mushroom pork gravy, green beans with bacon, mushroom and onions, green salad with ranch or Italian dressing, roll and butter, dessert, and tea, coffee or soft drinks. No alcohol will be served.
For the dinner box, the menu will consist of half rosemary chicken, rigatoni in red meat sauce, green salad with either ranch or Italian dressing, plus roll and butter.
All proceeds will go to help Love INC meet its mission of helping the needy with their basic needs. The organization does the initial assessments for those seeking help and then connects them with area churches or agencies who can provide the help that they need.
Love INC is a church-centered ministry in Manteca that assists individuals and families in need who are making an effort toward “self-efficiency” by working with area churches who provide the services.
“We want to ‘teach people to fish rather than give them the fish’. We want to be the bridge for people into both a better spiritual life and one of economic self-sufficiency,” according to the organization’s web site statement on how it helps individuals and families.
