On Friday, February 17, 2017, Anna Iremonger, a lifelong Soldier in The Salvation Army, was “Promoted to Glory” to be welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Anna Iremonger was predeceased by her devoted husband of 63 years, Ivan Iremonger and is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Marilyn Iremonger; eldest granddaughter Keryn Horwood, husband Dr. Michael Horwood and children, Paige, Zachary, Rachael Aldridge and her husband, the Rev. Sam Aldridge; middle granddaughter, Nyrelle Patten, husband John Patten and children Emma and Jack; as well as youngest granddaughter Stacey Mackin, husband Bryce Mackin and children Katie and Emily.

Anna Iremonger was born in Auckland, New Zealand on February 7, 1918 to William and Adalina McKinley.    Anna is predeceased by her brothers Bill and George McKinley, and her sister Miriam Walters and Eileen Joy. She is also lovingly remembered by many nephews and nieces through New Zealand.

Anna immigrated to the United States in 1967 with her husband, Ivan. They lived in Sacramento, California for over 30 years, where they attended The Salvation Army Citadel Corps and shared many fond memories with family and friends. In addition, Anna enjoyed bowling and won many awards at the California State Fair for her exquisite knitting.

For the last ten years, Anna lived at Bethany Home Manor, then at Beth Haven, and finally at Bethany Home’s Skilled Nursing Facility. Her family wishes to thank Bethany Home for their excellent and compassionate care and Optimal Hospice during her final moments at Bethany Home.

A Celebration of Life is to be held at 2pm on Monday, February 27 at Bethany Home Manor, 999 Second Street in Ripon. In a private family ceremony, Anna Iremonger will be interred alongside her husband, Ivan Iremonger, in The Salvation Army Cemetery at Cypress Lawn, Daly City, California.
