Born in Turlock, a native Californian of immigrant parents, Arquimimo and Maria, proud Azorean’s of Portuguese descent.

83 years young, Joe passed away after a long Illness, preceded by the passing of his wife Jean, by nine months. Jean was the love of his life. And, in December, they would have been married 65 years.

Joe loved his family and had grown very close to his daughters in his last years, as well to his grandson, Adam, who had been his sole caregiver in the last months of his life.

Joe loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.Joe is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Al Cordova, Linda and Jim Monty, Kathleen Mattos, Elizabeth and Luis Martell.

He also leaves behind, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great, yet to be born. His sister Lena, 91 of Castro Valley, and uncle to many.

He will be greatly missed.
