Bruce Elvin De Mott

Bruce De Mott passed away suddenly at his home in Ripon on January 23, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born in Modesto on December 7, 1938.
   Bruce worked as a Licensed Land Surveyor with the Board of Registry and Engineering for 50 years. He also served as a correctional officer for 17 years. He proudly served our country in the Air Force from 1956 to 1960.  Bruce enjoyed horseback riding and working on his ranch with his various animals. He was
a self-taught farrier and blacksmith. His greatest passions were packing into the High Sierra back country and volunteering as a packer for Kennedy Meadows Resort and Pack Station, as well as various horseback adventures with his wife, Jeannette. Bruce served with many organizations, such as the American Association of Professional Farriers, the Back country Horseman of CA-Mid Valley Unit, the Ripon Grange Hall #511, Son Of The American Revolution, Calvary Reformed Church and he was a V.F.W. Member at Large. Bruce will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.
   Bruce is preceded in passing by his son, Matthew De Mott. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Jeannette, children, Mark (Janetta) De Mott of Redding, Luke De Mott of Turlock, Bill (Terry) Emslie of Ripon, and Kathryn (Jerry) Ramar of Oakdale; grandchildren, Elizabeth N. De Mott of Turlock, Casey Paseka of Tracy, Madelyn Dougherty of Circleville, Ohio, Jillian Dougherty of Oakdale, and great- grandchildren Kenadie and John Paseka.
   Deegan Ripon- Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the De Mott family. A visitation will be held at the
Deegan Ripon Chapel on Tuesday, February 1st from
4 to 7 p.m. A burial service with full military honors
