David De La Pena,72, entered into rest on December 17, 2019 in Manteca, CA. He was born on July 20, 1947 in Martinez, CA.
   He is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Johnson. David is survived by his wife of 43 years Tamera De La Pena, children, Renee Glenn (Anton), Randy Johnson, Tonya Perez (Mike) and Wendy Johnson. He was blessed by 20 grandchildren, Leticia, Frankie, Michael, David, Kayla, Justin, Tristyn, Jake, Zach (Olivia), Riley, Kaymen, Robert, William, Austin, Danielle, Nikki, Roman, Randy, Shawn and Casey and eight great-grandchildren, Aleana, Chloe, Danny III, Teagan, Camila, Arabella, baby Jake and Noni.
    David proudly served his country through the United States Army.  He retired from Tracy Defense Depot after 25 years of service. After retirement, David worked for Manteca Unified School District at Sierra High as a custodian. David loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife was the most important person in his life, he loved her unconditionally. David was a Giants fan and a 49er faithful. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, sports and socializing over a tall cold beer. David will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the De La Pena family. A prayer service will be on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11 a.m.  held at P.L. Fry and Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA.
