Donald D. Mallory, 84, a retired H.J. Heinz Co. quality control lab technician died Saturday, September 3, while under doctors care at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento. A  native of South Greenfield, MO., Mr. Mallory moved to California in 1937 with his family as a boy. Donald began work at H.J. Heinz in 1950 and worked until drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952. Donald served for two years including a tour in Korea. Donald returned to H.J. Heinz in 1954, retiring after 42 years.
   Donald loved to go camping and  fishing with his brothers and immediate family. Golfing, gardening, and traveling to Arkansas to visit his granddaughters and great grandchildren. Donald was very active in the Pentecostal Church of God serving as Sunday school superintendent and assistant pastor. He attended Crossroad Community Church in Manteca. Donald was a Manteca resident for 47 years.
   Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joann Mallory of Manteca, two sons; Donald L. Mallory of Dardanelle, AR., and Ricky Mallory of Manteca.; two granddaughters, Amanda McMillian (Joshua) of Russellville, AR., and Vicky Jones (Justin) of Dover, AR; two great grandchildren, Mallory and Jacob McMillian, both of Russellville, AR., two sisters, Juanita Horne of Escalon, and Loretta Cross (Alvin) of Manteca.
   He was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta Mallory and Carmelita Medina, two brothers, Chester Mallory and Wayne Mallory, and his parents, Hulcie and Lorraine Mallory.
   Monday’s services will begin at 12:30 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 209 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. Visitation will be observed from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
