Doris Yvonne House Allsup passed away Thursday, January 14, at home with her family in Riverbank. She and her husband, Glen Allsup, just celebrated their 55th year of marriage on January 10.

Doris’s proudest accomplishment was letting all those around her know that she loved the Lord more than anything. She worshipped at Empire Church of Christ. She loved her family deeply and was a magnet for people. She lived in Manteca for 30 years and was active in the community in numerous local events. She wrote, produced and directed televised shows depicting the history of America for each 4th of July for four years, acting as president of the 4th of July committee. She sang for Memorial Day and Veterans Day services for 10-12 years. She was president of Sharpe’s Depot American Legion Auxiliary. She worked along with her husband Glen to get fencing and bathrooms installed at Lincoln Park baseball fields. She was instrumental in talent shows to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club telethon by organizing talent for three years. She entertained at the campaign dinner for John Garamendi, among others. She worked with Jack Snyder, Willie Weatherford and others at several community functions. She loved all those she knew and worked with.

She is survived by her husband Glen Allsup; their children, Kevin Allsup of Riverbank, Kim Allsup Diaz of Sonora, Bob and Laura Allsup of Ripon, Tabitha and Gabe Velasquez of Watsonville, Melody and Jared House of Manteca, Betty Naylor of Manteca; her brothers, George House of Hughson, Orville House of Hughson, Gerald House of Hughson, Herman House of Sacramento, Joseph House of Manteca; her sisters, Kathleen Sharp of Modesto, Irma Rapier of Carmichael, Patricia Jones of Ceres, Mary Miller of Kerman; her grandchildren, Julie Machado of Red Bluff, Angel Krause of Fresno, Preston Espinoza of Manteca, Chessa Johnston of Ripon, Amanda Allsup of Ripon, Allen Diaz of Vancouver, WA, Kathleen Hill of Sonora, Kassidy Diaz of Oklahoma City, OK, Nicole Loza of Ripon, Rachelle Allsup of Ripon, Bobby Allsup of Ripon, Kaitlyn Allsup of Ripon, Austin House of Manteca, Rowan House of Manteca, Mollie Velasquez of Watsonville, Myah Velasquez of Watsonville; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Lucas, Caleb and Adam Johnson, Kylie and Rochelle Diaz, Owen Hill, Ella Loza, Gianna Corona, Henry, Adam, Kimberly, Jaime, Stephanie, and Jonathan Machado, Bailey and Addilyn Krause, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Shockley, her parents, George and Cordelia House and her siblings, Don House, David House and Mildred House.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home. A service will be held in her honor, Friday, January 22 at 1 p.m. at Hughson Church of Christ with burial following at Lakewood Memorial Park.
