Ernest Torres, 95, passed away on August 13, 2019 in Manteca, California. Ernest was born on July 13, 1924 in Redwood City, California.
   He is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 63 years, Carolina. Ernest leaves behind three children, Ernest Torres, Jr. of Colinga, Lisa (Dennis) Brown of Manteca and Marc (Kim) Torres of Michigan. He is survived by his grandchildren, Tim (Jennifer) Brown of Ripon, Christina Mendoza of Manteca, Brigitte Torres of California and Aaron Torres of North Carolina. He will be missed by his five great grandchildren, Timothy, Kylee and Ayden Brown, Jay Vargas and Hali’a Souza.
   Ernest loved sports. In high school he was an “All State” football player and helped lead his team to an undefeated season. He also played centerfield for his baseball team.  Ernest had the honor of playing a baseball game with Jackie Robinson. Ernest served his country in the United State, Army from 1943-1945. He married the love of his life, Carolina, and spent his days working as a carpenter for United Airlines for 33 years. When his children came along, he turned his love of baseball into being a manager for his children’s little league and all star teams. Ernest was a true family man and never missed any of his grandchildren’s events. He lived a long and fulfilled life and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
