Louvenia “Lou” Rench, 90, entered into rest on January 8, 2011 in Manteca, California. She was born on July 3, 1920 in Clarence, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall E. Rench.

She was a resident of Manteca, California, for over 18 years.

 Mrs. Rench is survived by her children; David Rench and wife Patricia of Capitola, James Rench of Poway and Marsha Silva and husband Ed of Manteca. She was blessed by 5 grandchildren; Lori Higbey and husband Guy, Julie Rench, Erinn Rench, Jeremiah Silva and wife Lindafaye, and Brett Silva.

 Louvenia was best known as Lou. She worked in retail for 30 years at various department stores including Macy’s in Palo Alto, Calif. She was a member of Central Valley Baptist Church of Manteca where she was known and loved as “Grandma Rench.” Grandma Rench celebrated her 90th birthday with her church family where they planted a special tree for her on the church grounds, which was such a blessing for her. Pastor Eric Tharp said it will be the only one of its kind on the property.

Lou volunteered for many years at the Manteca Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles. She loved bonding with her grandchildren, playing various games and spending special quality time with each and every one of them. She had a talent for baking goodies and she was especially known for her carrot cake. Lou was a people person, she had a great sense of humor and she had a gift for listening as she cherished her friendships wholeheartedly. She will be remembered as a grateful woman who appreciated God’s blessings with a humble heart. She will be greatly missed.

 P.L. Fry & Son Funeral home is handling all arrangements for Mrs. Rench. A service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at Central Valley Baptist Church 1 p.m. She was laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, Missouri, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.
