Lynda Lee Ware Sutton passed away on 24 January 2020 in Ripon, California. Lynda was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on 13 July 1948, the daughter of Walter William Ware and Merle Clark Ware. She married Steven Blair Sutton on 11 June 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 25 May 1975. She attended schools in Salt Lake City, graduating from Highland High School in 1966. She lived in California for 47 years, with the last 36 years in Manteca.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack and William. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven, her daughter, Jennifer, and her son, Brian.
Lynda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Much of her church service was spent working with the primary children and young women. She particularly loved working with very young children. Their unconditional love greatly influenced how she felt about others. She had a big, generous heart and considered everyone she met a friend. She accepted others without judgment and treated everyone she encountered with kindness and compassion.
She had a great love for crafts, particularly ceramics, and for travel. For years she participated in the local craft fairs. She was frustrated when the infirmities associated with her illness prevented her from holding a paintbrush or glue gun, or from traveling with her husband in retirement. Her family always looked forward to the Christmas decorations and presents she made each year, and to the Halloween costumes she made for her children when they were young.
Her family will remember the tremendous courage with which she faced her many illnesses. She never lost her sense of humor or her love for God. Her family was always the center of her attention. She cherished the time she spent with them, particularly at Christmas time.
Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, 1 February 2020, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 6060 Northland Road in Manteca, CA. Visitation prior to the service will begin at 9 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association would be appreciated.
