Margaret Burnett Titus, former Manteca resident and wife of late Manteca attorney John Burnett, died on April 12, 2019 in Berkeley, California.
   Her remains were buried at the Park View Cemetery with his on April 30. Margaret was born on April 30,1930 to Croatian immigrants Nick and Stella Pulich. She graduated from the College of the Pacific and briefly worked as a model in San Francisco, which cultivated her lifelong enjoyment of fashion. In 1959 she married John Burnett, Manteca City Attorney and law partner of Congressman John McFall. They participated in many local civic organizations, entertained family and friends at their ranch, and traveled extensively. Margaret worked as a probation officer and later taught 3rd grade. After John Burnett died, Margaret moved to San Francisco and worked for Bechtel Corp. In 1977 she married voice teacher C. Dickson Titus who left the UOP Music Conservatory to open a private voice studio in San Francisco, which went on to foster the success of many world class opera singers. They hosted many gatherings of friends and singers in San Francisco and they traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East.
   Margaret was preceded in death by Dickson Titus, her brother Judge Martin N. Pulich, and her brother-in-law Dr. Richard Burnett. She is survived by her nieces Robin and Mimi Pulich of Berkeley, many cousins in Croatia, and many friends across the globe, most notably Lawrence Venza, a former UOP student of Dickson Titus and an integral and loving resource throughout Margaret’s life.
