Matilda Tamarra passed away peacefully in Modesto on Nov. 15, 2010. She was born Matilda Maxima Acosta on Feb. 28, 1948 on the island of Oahu, Hawaii to the late Marcos Acosta and Ellen and Juan Rezonable.

Matilda was affectionately known to many close friends and family as Sima. To her children she was Mom; to her grandchildren she was Nana. She lived her life with the true meaning of the “Aloha Spirit.” She was carefree and raised her children with the understanding that nothing will make you feel better than some good food and company. Our fondest memories are when; if life would get you down, she could always put a smile on your face by simply explaining that things could be worse. We will always miss the simple analogies that at times would make the most sense.

Sima, will be greatly missed by her loving husband Burton (Burt/Bobo) Alan Tamarra I. Loving children; Rozelle Neely and husband Gene, Burton (Butch) Tamarra II, Rhoda Tamarra, Rozelyn Onate and husband Felix and 13 grandchildren. Sisters: Teresita McKee and Candy Nakagawa. Brothers: Ronald Ondayog and George Ondayog. Preceded in death by her sister, Florence Aque and her brother Marcos Acosta Jr.

A private memorial was held in Manteca on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 and was attended by many family members and close friends.
