Donald Gene Hill, 77, entered into rest on September 5, 2016 in Manteca. He was born on October 21, 1938 in Amarillo Texas. In heaven he joins his parents the late Harry and Maureen Hill, as well as two brothers, Tommy Hill and Curtis Hill.

He leaves behind the love of his life Christina “Rita” Hill of Manteca; they were married for 43 years. His children are, Michael Hill of Manteca, Leland Elliott (Inez) of Manteca, Susan Hill (and husband Hal) Swartzlander of Plumas Lake, Marilyn Vaughan (Joey) of Manteca, and Lance Elliott of Lodi.  He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchildren. Donald was a Tracy/Manteca resident. He graduated from Tracy High School and worked at the Tracy Paper Mill and H.J. Heinz. He would then move on to work for Lawrence Livermore Lab as a machinist, a trade that he held an entire lifetime. He was a huge car enthusiast, building and rebuilding “Hot Rods” and some being showcased in Street Rodder Magazine. Chrome ran through his veins, if he had an opportunity to paint it chrome, it would be chrome! His family and wife grew up in car shows all over California, where his cars would win multiple accolades.    Above all his grandchildren and family where his prized possessions. He loved them beyond imaginable. He will be remembered as a remarkable husband, amazing father and special grandfather. He will be truly missed.
