Violet Bernice Bobson passed away peacefully August 18, 2026 in Modesto California. Violet Niemi was born February 2, 1930 on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She moved with her family to Stockton in 1946 and attended Stockton High. After graduating, she attended college of the Pacific meeting the love of her life Ernest Bobson then marrying in 1950. They moved to Manteca to raise a family and take the reins of the family business, Bobson cleaners.
Vi raised four children –Mark born 1951, Randy 1953, Craig 1956 and Nemi in 1957 while managing Bobson Cleaners from 1950 to 2005. During these full–time duties Vi was a founding member and past president of the Manteca Federated Womens Club, founding member in past president of the Manteca Garden Club administrator of the Manteca Hoby scholarship fund and mentor and educator for Manteca grammar, school and high school girls. She was also an avid and competitive player in the Manteca Bridge club. She taught mathematics and appreciation of classical music to her children. To her children, she was not only a mother she was a friend. Vi will be remembered as a loving mother and wife, a hard–working businesswoman, a fabulous friend and a social pillar of Manteca. Vi is survived by two siblings, four children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a beautiful person. At this time, there will be no services in memory of Violet.
