Sierra frosh fall while MHS, EU collect wins

The Sierra freshmen could not find the end zone Thursday and could not keep host Central Catholic out of it as the Raiders rolled to a 33-0 non-league win at David Patton Memorial Field.

 Brandon Arreola was the bulk of the Timberwolves offense, gaining 83 yards on 11 carries and 63 yards passing, completing four of eight passes.

 SeuSeu Alofaituli led the Sierra defense with nine tackles and Nashon Tamiano added six.

Manteca 32, Hughson 0

The Buffaloes allowed the Huskies just seven total offensive yards.

It was a scoring-by-committee approach for Manteca with four players crossing the goal line. Kameron Beamon scored on a 20-yard run, Devin Gonzales from 4 yards out Eddie Santos on a 2-yard run. Gerson Gomez gave the Buffaloes a 16-0 halftime lead when he connected with James Thomas on a 10-yard scoring pass on the last play of the second quarter.

EU 20, Central Valley 0

The Lancers ground out a 62-yard scoring drive to start the game and never looked back.

Isaiah Cormier capped that drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. Patrick Shouland scampered 65 yards in the second quarter for a touchdown and in the third quarter a blocked punt set up a 5-yard Devon Young touchdown run.

Shouland gained 100 yards on the ground and made six tackles and blocked a punt. Miguel Lopez ran for 62 yards and made six tackles and Jake Harries gained 71 yards on the ground and made six tackles.
