Ripon moves to 6-0 in Trans-Valley League

Ripon’s Nick Sharp shot a 2-over 38 during a 216-249 victory over host Hughson at the Turlock Golf & Country Club Thursday.

Robby Figeroid of the Indians carded a 43. Kyle Head, Nathan Suender and Jack Brierly all carded 45s to round out Ripon’s total. Ben Johannes and Jesus Ramos tied for the Huskies’ low score with 44s.

Ripon improved to 6-0 in the Trans Valley League.



Valley Oak League

Sierra 219, Lathrop DQ

Sierra cruised to another Valley Oak League victory and knocked off Lathrop at the French Camp Golf Course.

Sierra’s Blake Settlemoir earned medalist honor with a 38. Matt Rose shot a 41 and Chris Schmitz tallied 46. Joey Guinta and Essley Green each had 47s to round out the total.

Geoff and Matt Fallon of Lathrop carded team-low 51s. Sam Fallon shot a 61 on the par-32.

Sierra improved to 7-3 in league, while Lathrop (0-10) is still winless.



Oakdale 212, Manteca 234

Manteca couldn’t quite keep pace with Oakdale, who were led by standouts Issac Rellamas (34) and Ian Stogdell (35) for its league victory.

Manteca’s Justin Morrish carded a 43, which was a team-low. Ray Tinnin and Kyle Howard both carded 47s. Brandon Ramirez (49), Davey Tolbert (48) and Gus LaDue (52) rounded out the Buffaloes’ total.

Manteca dropped to 2-7 in the league, 4-9 overall. The Buffaloes will golf on Tuesday at the Manteca Park Golf Course against Kimball Tracy.



East Union 200, Sonora 229

Will Brink of East Union has been playing stellar on the links as of late.

Brink has shot 10-under par for his last three matches and was the medalist with a 4-under 33.

EU is now 9-1 and sitting atop the conference. Jordan Lund carded a 40 and Kyle Davis a 41. Zac Couch and Nick Rounsville each tallied 43s. Sonora’s Billie Kirkland finished with a team-low 39.



Southern League

Ripon Christian 211, Le Grand 301

Ripon Christian had a solid afternoon at the Pheasant Run Golf Course in Chowchilla.

Every Knight golfer shot in the 40s, led by Kyle Colyn’s 4-over 40. Colyn was the medalist and recorded an eagle on the 507-yard, par-5 first.

Andrew Manes and Jesse DeRousse carded 41s, while Austin Alger finished with 44. Christian Manes rounded out the RC total with a 45. Isaiah Clinton finished with a team-low 54 for Le Grand.

RC is now 6-1 in the Southern League and is in second place behind Turlock Christian.
