Modesto beats Visalia in walk-off finish

MODESTO  (AP) -- Jordan Cowan scored the winning run on an error in the 11th inning, as the Modesto Nuts defeated the Visalia Rawhide 5-4 on Monday.
Cowan scored the game-winning run after he led off the inning with a single, stole second and then went to third on a walk by Kyle Lewis.
After Visalia’s Matt Jones hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th, Modesto tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the inning when Joe Rizzo hit an RBI triple, driving in Donnie Walton.
Reliever Ryan Scott (1-0) went one scoreless inning, allowing one hit while striking out one to get the win. Jorge Flores (0-1) didn’t record an out and allowed one run in the California League game.
Joey Curletta doubled and singled, also stealing a base in the win. Eric Filia doubled and singled.
Jason Morozowski tripled and singled, driving in a run and also scoring one for the Rawhide.
