In a battle of the unbeatens, Quinnie Dunbar ran wild for five touchdowns to lead the visiting Manteca Jr. Buffaloes to a 49-19 varsity blowout win over the Jr. Cougars at Weston Ranch High.

Dunbar churned out 321 yards on 20 carries and Jayden Vasquez (five carries, 65 yards) added the other Jr. Buffaloes touchdown.

The Manteca defense forced four turnovers. Jayden Velasquez (fumble recovery) made five stops, Grayson Keller four with three tackles and an interception apiece for Travis Maltes, Gabe Torres and Dunbar.

Lathrop Jr. Spartans 12, Ceres Jr. Bulldogs 0

The Jr. Spartans scored all of their points in the first half Saturday and held on to blank the Ceres Jr. Bulldogs at Bennie Gatto Field.

Lathrop’s Genesus Siga (three carries, 85 yards; 31-yard punt return) scored on a 52-yard run and Claudio Rivera made his one rush count with a 13-yard touchdown run. Jordan Romo (five carries, 43 yards; 3 of 5 passing 30 yards; 40-yard kick-off return) added to the offense with Moses Ramirez-Hernandez adding 56 yards on nine carries. Ethan Jones contributed to the offense.

C.J. Stevens scored a pair of touchdowns for the visiting Cowboys.

Stevens (17 carries, 129 yards) scored on 5- and 6-yard runs. Cristian Ibarra added a 7-yard touchdown run and Rafel Nunez scored from 3 yards out.

Orlando Bugarin, Anthony Johnson, Michael Gonsalez, German Patron and Rafel Nunez contributed to the Manteca offense.

Stevens led the Cowboys defense with 12 tackles. Martin Sandoval, Christian Ibarra and Ivan Torres added eight stops apiece, Micah Palencia and German Patron tallied seven stops each with five apiece for Fernando Ceja, Ruben Cedano and Simaile Moana, four each for Liam Kata-Heimuli, Tamatoa Macomber, Nunez and Jonathan Frutis, and Orlando Bugarin and three apiece for Levi Kata-Heimuli and Oliver Szmidt.

Manteca put up 30 points in the opening quarter of the game was called after three quarters due to a sprinkler malfunction.

Alejandro Hernandez threw touchdown passes of 15 yards to Brayden Camara and 50 yards to Adriel Cedano. Camara added a 30-yard touchdown run, Armoni Candler scored from 40 yards out and Alejandro Hernandez posted a 45-yard scoring run.

Hudson Green returned an interception 100 yards in the second period to make the score 38-0.

Alex Gomez paced the Cowboys with four tackles with Rockstar Newell and Hudson Green added three stops apiece. Josiah Johnson, Camara, and Ramon Padilla each recovered a fumble on special teams and A.J. Kata-Heimuli contributed to the defense.

The Ceres second-period score held up for the rest of the game.

Lathrop’s Dominic Ramos posted seven carries for total of 47 yards. Nelson Yanis, Everette Boleware III and Mateo Gavino all contributed to the offense.

Jace Williams paced the Spartans with five tackles. Joel Hernandez, Gavino (interception) and Isaiah Carrasco each added four tackles with Nelson Yanis, Denzel Taani, Jasean Baker, and Faafouina Noa and Richard Horrocks, Andrew Noland, Leonardo Vargas, Everett Babcock and Everette Boleware III all contributing on defense.

Trailing 7-6 going into the fourth quarter, Manteca’s Steven Wynn skied high on a fourth down to bring down a reception over a Weston Ranch defender and sprint for a 60-yard touchdown and give the Buffaloes the lead.

Jayden Shortridge (100 yards rushing) ran for a 48-yard touchdown and Jeremiah Williams (37 yards rushing) posted a 25-yard rushing touchdown (25 rush TD). Brock McCurdy was 2 of 4 passing for 65 yards. Jayden Jourdan contributed to the offense.

Shortridge made seven tackles with four each for Wynn, Julio Rizo, Trenton Fitzhugh and Jayden Jourdan and three apiece for Jaxon Debarr and Jeremiah Williams. Mateo Mena and Isaiah Gonzalez contributed to the defense.

Andrew Sakalia scored a pair of touchdowns for the Cowboys.

Sakalia gained 95 yards on eight carries. Francisco Nieto II (three carries, 31 yards) and Andre Thompson Jr. (two carries, for 50 yards) and Griffin Gunnar all ran for a touchdown and Tyler Thomas made a touchdown catch.

Gunnar Griffin tallied seven tackles. Jaxon Batterson (fumble recovery), Reyes Noriega, Q.J. Holland, Jayden Ontai, Tyler Thomas and Matthews Abundiz all contributed to the defense.

Manteca’s Brixxton Fryer ran for three touchdowns.

Fryer tallied 125 yards on just three carries. BenZeion Herron and Harrison Catalano each tallied just one carry and those were good for a touchdown, Herron from 50 yards out and Catalano on a 40-yard run. Derringer Spangler (two carries, 45 yards), Rowan Dahle (four carries 27 yards) and Carter Louis (three carries, 44 yards) each scored one touchdown. Jace Texeira and Kameron Edwards contributed to the offense.

Adrian Mena and Spangler each tallied three tackles. Rowan Dahle, BenZeion Herron, Tahj Valentine, Tiger Singh, Kam Edwards, Parker Wallace and Malachi Wright all contributed to the defense.

Viliami Lauaki and Rory Rodriguez combined for three touchdowns and more than 300 yards rushing.

Lauaki (10 carries, 125 yards) scored on runs of 5 and 27 yards and Rodriguez tallied a 55-yard touchdown run.

Rory Rodriguez and Gilbert Arreola added six stops apiece with four each for Tristan Chelucci, Adrian Pimentel, and Viliami Lauaki. Manteca’s Hunter Camera tallied a trio of touchdown runs.

Camera (seven carries, 173 yards) scored on runs of 18, 51 and 62 yards. Omar Castillo added an 11-yard touchdown run a 56-yard fumble returned for a touchdown. Bryan Bass, Aaron Perez and Castillo all contributed to the offense.

Perez (fumble recovery) made nine tackles. Dimitri Sakalia (two fumble recoveries) added even stops, with six each for Castillo, Bryan Bass and Isaiah Diaz.

Trailing 6-0 at the half, the Gunnar Gorbunoff tallied two second-half touchdowns for the Knights.

Gorbunoff (seven carries, 67 yards) scored on runs of 4 and 8 yards. Nicolas Rangel added 105 yards on 12 carries and Hudson Browne tallied 73 yards on just three carries.

Ripon’s Walter De Jong finished with five tackles including two sacks down the stretch. Nicolas Rangel posted seven stops, Gorbunoff five with four each for Browne and Austin Chaney and three for Michael MacNeilage. Callen Newell and Jack Cardoza contributed to the defense.
