Brayden Hoffman hit a walk-off single, and Cash Junqueiro pitched four dominant innings to buoy the Rays’ 2-1 win over the White Sox in the Manteca Little League Minor Division championship game on May 20.

The victory sends the Rays to the District 67 Tournament of Champions, which begins June 7.

Marcus Aldridge Jr. plated the go-ahead run, leading off the bottom of the sixth with a double before getting sent home by Hoffman. Matthew Ridgeway earlier batted in the Rays’ first run with a bases-loaded walk, scoring Tino Marinakis.

Junqueiro collected nine strikeouts and gave up just one hit. Aldridge pitched the final two innings in relief and got the win, striking out six.

Logan Stirrat did his part in the pitcher’s duel for the White Sox, fanning eight over 3 2/3 innings. Josh Husband reached base in all three of his plate appearances.
