The all-new Pathfinder went from a mid-sized Sports Utility Vehicle to a crossover.

Nissan calls the redesigned 2013 model a “next Gen SUV” – a crossover with the dimensions of a midsized SUV – with competitive advantages and unrivaled versatility.

This third generation vehicle just rolled into Tracy Nissan, 3195 N. Naglee Rd. The 2013 Pathfinder, according to the dealership, features premium styling, comfort, and technology currently not found in the large SUV segment.

Try best-in-class fuel economy, best-in-class front head room, best-in-class front leg room, best-in-class passenger volume, and best-in-class second-row seat slide, for starters.

Pathfinder’s interior roominess has increased significantly thanks in part to the Nissan EX Flex seating system and Latch and Glide technology.

This forward-folding-and-sliding design of the second-row seats eases entry to and exit from the third row. The recessed handle in the panel behind the second-row seats also makes it easier for passengers to climb into the third row.

The Latch and Glide child seat mode – another Nissan innovation – allows forward movement and access to the third row yet the child restraint seat is kept secured and in place.

The Pathfinder is good for towing and passing while capable of getting 26 miles per gallon highway. That’s courtesy of a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 240 lb. ft. torque, in turn, contributing to the 5,000-pound towing capacity.

A first-class ride, the 2013 Pathfinder offers some available premium comforts, from heated and cooled front seats and heated steering wheel, to the Nissan Navigation System featuring Zagat Survey on restaurant recommendations and live weather updates.

There’s also the available dual driver’s seat memory system and the Bose premium audio system with AM/FM/CD/USB coupled with 13 speakers and dual subwoofers.

Nissan technology on the Pathfinder includes the around view monitor good for maneuvering in thigh spaces, the tire pressure monitoring and alert, and the advanced drive-assist display for four-wheel drive.

In addition, the Pathfinder is the only vehicle in its class with two-wheel drive, automatic, and four-wheel drive modes.
