Delicato Vineyards in Manteca has the only tasting room in the South County area, while there is an abundance to choose from in the Lodi, Collegeville and Acampo areas to the north.

McManis Winery is making an impact in the industry and in the community with its wine operation on River Road east of Ripon, but it does not have a tasting facility as yet for its customers.  McManis produces wines for consumers overseas as well as those domestically.

McManis Family Vineyards produces premium varietal wine grapes and was founded by Ron and Jamie McManis in 1990 as a fourth generation family farm operation.  The McManis family has been farming grapes in the region since 1938, and now produces its wines from some 2,500 acres in production.

Some 13 years ago in 1997 McManis built a state of the art winery that was designed to produce their wines through small lot handling with whole cluster pressing and barrel storage and fermentation.

The former Franzia Winery – now the Wine Group – is located on Highway 120 in Ripon just east of Murphy Road.  Franzia operated a tasting room there for many years, but reportedly closed its doors because of liabilities associated with its proximity to the highway.

The Lodi Wine & Visitor Center on West Turner Road is billed as the “most exciting destination” in California wine.  The tasting facility is located some 35 minutes south of Sacramento and is about equa-distant from Manteca. The tasting room hours are from 10 in the morning until 5 in the evening.

The Lodi Wine Trail includes a host of tasting rooms from the Abundance Vineyards on Turner Road – open 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily – to the Berghold Vineyards on Cherry Road and the Lucas Winery on North Davis Road.  Both are open Thursday through Sunday only.  Berghold is open from 11 to 5 and Lucas invites wine tasting from noon until 4:30.

The Borra Vineyards located on East Armstrong Road in Lodi is open daily from noon until 5 p.m.  Other wineries in Lodi include d’Art Wines – with tasting Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 5.  M2 Wines is located on East Turner Road with their tasting hours Friday through Sunday from 11 to 5.  Michael David Vineyards is open daily for tasting from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and the Oak Ridge Winery on Highway 12 invites members of the public to sample their wines from 10 until 5 Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Jessie’s Grove Winery is on West Turner Road in Lodi with tasting Wednesday through Monday from 12 to 5 p.m.  The Lodi Wine Cellars, featuring Benson Ferry Winery, is located on Pine Street with their tasting hours Tuesday through Thursday from 3 until 8 p.m.  On Fridays and Saturdays tasting is from 5 in the evening until midnight.

The Woodbridge Uncorked winery is located on North Lower Sacramento Road in Woodbridge with tasting Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.  Friday and Saturday 5 until 10 p.m. and on Sunday it’s 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The Van Ruiten Family Winery on Highway 12 in Lodi has its tasting room doors open daily from 11 until 5.  The Vino Con Brio at Amorosa Vineyards on E. Harney Lane hosts their guests to tasting Thursday through Monday from noon until 5.

In Collegeville the Campus Oaks/Gnekow Family Winery on Gawne Road is open for tasting from 11 to 5 daily and at other times by appointment.

Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi is located on East Woodbridge Road in Acampo.  Tasting is on a daily basis from10:30 in the morning until 4:30 p.m. with tours scheduled daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The vMv-Vicarmont Vineyards & Winery on North Locust Tree Road in Lodi has its tasting room open Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 5.

The Vino Piazza, the Winery Plaza at 12470 Locke Road in Lockeford,  has over 75 wines ready for tasting at their one location.  Each of the wineries represented is independently owned with its own tasting schedule.

Those wineries include Boitano Family Wines, The Coliseum, Olde Lockeford Winery, Pasos Vineyards, Stama Winery and Watts Winery.
