Patty Reece has devoted the last 25 years to helping others shine whether its brides for their wedding, police officers protecting Manteca, or service clubs tackling community endeavors.

And to celebrate, Reece is planning a party. It’s going to be big and it will be at her New York Diamonds Jewelry store in the Safeway Shopping Center on South Main Street on Saturday, Sept. 5, from noon to 5 p.m.

There will be toasts and surprises for her customers that have totaled into the thousands in her 37 years in the jewelry business from Sacramento to Modesto and in Manteca for the past 25 years.

The event is designed to be a thank you party for her loyal customers past and present.

Hors d’ oeuvres will be the order of the day with seven staffers making the rounds to make their guest feel like family at the party.  Jewelry will be sold for up to 70 percent off with the entire store being on sale.

Reece said she plans to offer a lot of fun for her customers along with unexpected surprises.

She has been a thoughtful supporter of the Manteca Police Department’s canine unit over the years paying for part or all of the cost of new canines and making sure service clubs have raffle prizes at their events that will draw heads — often donating rings, bracelets and $1,000 pearl sets.

Reece’s passion outside the store have been her many orchids that she grows behind her rural home.  It’s not uncommon for her to take a customer’s root bound orchid plant home and repot it —  promising a new blooming cycle. Reece blossoms as well when she is in the presence of her customers.
