A 3-year-old girl fell 13 feet from an upstairs window Saturday afternoon to the concrete below, landing on her feet.

The child was reportedly playing in her room and her parents were downstairs when she fell through a screen just before 3 p.m. The parents were alerted by her fall, according to Manteca Fire Battalion Chief David Marques.

All the indications were that she was fine with a few abrasions, but she was still airlifted by REACH helicopter from Doxey Park on Northgate Drive to the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for observation.  The family’s two-story home is in the 1900 block of Crutchfield Lane.

When a child is injured a helicopter is automatically dispatched with the ground ambulance.  On Saturday the REACH air ambulance descended onto the landing zone at the park within 10 minutes of being dispatched flying from its base at Stockton Airport, according to a fire department spokesman.
