Manteca Police have arrested two suspects in the burglary of 48 vehicles at Great Wolf on Thanksgiving morning.

Manteca Police arrested Damiano Ray, 20, and Juan Mateom 22, outside the Roseville Courthouse on Thursday.

The two had been arrested and released for similar auto burglaries in Roseville on Dec. 2.

Manteca Police said the two — along with a third suspect — parked a stolen car along the 120 Bypass offramp at McKinley Boulevard.

They then scaled a chain link fence to enter the parking lot of the 500-room indoor waterpark resort.

Surveillance cameras at Great Wolf caught three males on video but their faces were covered.

While the burglaries were underway, a CHP officer spotted the stolen car on the off ramp and had it towed.

That forced the three to flee on foot heading east through the Costco parking lot where they were caught on surveillance came without their faces covered.

Detective Russ Smith followed leads from the original crime and was able to identify the two suspects.

Smith and his team arrested Damiano and Juan outside the Roseville Courthouse after their court appearance in the Roseville case.

They were booked into San Joaquin County Jail for burglary, vandalism, and conspiracy charges.

Smith has leads on the third suspect and is continuing to follow up on that information.

DNA left at the scene likely will be used to further identify one of the suspects.

Manteca Police noted the subsequent crime in Roseville shows what happens when theft suspects are not immediately captured or held in custody after their capture.

A police spokesperson said the community and victims’ patience was “much appreciated” while the detectives investigated the initial crime and followed up on the leads.

It was noted keeping the community and victims updated is important to the department, but some information cannot be shared because it could jeopardize capturing a suspect, it could hamper the successful prosecution of the case, or it could create an officer safety issue.

Any with information on the third suspect is urged to call the Manteca Police Department at 209.456.8101: reference case #25-05328.
