Manteca Interfaith Community Appeal (MICA) and the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca & Lathrop are sponsoring a carnival on Saturday, July 25.

Youth ages 6 to 18 are invited to the free MICA Community Carnival from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. taking place in the park at the Boys & Girls Club, 545 W. Alameda Street in Manteca.

The event is being organized and run by members of Manteca Youth Focus, MICA, and the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program of San Joaquin County.

“I am always excited when our Manteca community finds constructive ways to work with youth, and this looks like a great way to do that,” said Mayor Gary Singh.

There will be different game stations that kids will rotate through, including Parachute Games, Relay Races, Musical Chairs, Water Balloons and something called a Human Knot.

There will be a Community Mural to help paint, a Scavenger Hunt, and the games will conclude with a good old-fashioned Tug-of-War.

This will be a free and fun summer activity, with music and prizes – a good place to meet or make new friends.

It’s recommended that kids bring a water bottle, use sunscreen, and wear closed-toe shoes. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Adult chaperones are welcome to attend.
