Manteca-Sierra FFA staging wildfire relief effort for pets, others

The Manteca-Sierra FFA is conducting a wildfire relief donation drive to help victims whose livestock and small animals have been impacted.

There are two collection days — Monday, Sept. 28, and Wednesday, Sept. 30 — from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the front of Sierra High at 1700 Thomas Street.

Items being accepted are alfalfa, shavings, grass hay, goat/sheep pellet feed, senior equine feed, chicken scratch/layer feed, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol (70 percent), stainless steel dog bowls, new bedding and blankets, dry cat and dog food, dog crates (large and small), litter boxes and litter, as well as distilled water (no other type).

Also to help the human victims they will be accepting gift cards from Target, Walmart and any fast food restaurant along with Visa and Mastercard gift cards.
