New development may be coming next door to the Flying J Travel Center in Ripon.
A public hearing at the Ripon Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Sept. 20 on a request to subdivide a 16.95-acre parcel into two parcels.
According to the public notice, Parcel A is where the current Fly J Travel Center at 1501 Jack Tone Road on approximately 14.96 acres.
Parcel B is planned for future development on 1.96 acres.
The property is in the Highway Service District. The public hearing provides an opportunity for those for and against the plan to provide input.
The Pilot and Flying J Travel Center in Ripon is one of over 750 locations. It is open 24 hours.
Travelers – truckers and motorists – along Highway 99 are provided with a place to grab food, cold beverages, shower, parking, wi-fi, and fuel up using either gas or diesel.
