The Hospice of San Joaquin will have its annual Christmas Tree-Lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday at the Ripon Veteran’s Memorial Wall.
This is one of eight such events in San Joaquin County honoring the memory of lost loved ones – the other local tree-lighting Hospice of San Joaquin event will take place in Manteca on Thursday, Dec. 2. at Doctors Hospital, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Ripon tree-lighting is an annual Christmas tradition at 311 First St, at the corner of First Street and South Locust Avenue.
Included is the Hospice of SJ memory board.
According to the Ripon Chamber of Commerce, sweet treats will be provided by Faux Glow Spray Tans & Boutique. Coffee and hot cocoa will be made possible by Ripon Coffee House, Inc.
Santa may or may not be there but the Chamber sill encourages folks to bring their children for this community and family gathering.
Some have purchased Christmas lights on the tree.
Each light from Hospice of SJ will represent the memory of a loved one with their name on the memory board next to the tree at the Veteran’s Wall.
“These memory boards will be up until the end of the year for our Ripon citizens to stop, remember, and pay our respects to those we have lost,” said the Chamber on their recent social media post.
