The Ripon Police Department will host an “Area of Responsibility” meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Emergency Operations Center / Training Room, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

This is one of four sessions – the City of Ripon, in this case, is divided into four geographical areas – scheduled throughout the year. It’s designed as a team concept, involving police and the community in an effort to ensure that problems are properly identified.

In this first quarter session, Ripon police will focus on Area of Responsibility No. 1, encompassing north of Highway 99 and west of North Ripon Road, consisting of the Mistlin Sports Park area.

“Although the meeting will focus on Area #1, all relevant safety topics throughout the city will be covered,” said police via social media.

Each Area of Responsibility has an assigned police sergeant.

“This is a time for the police department staff assigned to your neighborhoods, businesses, and schools to answer questions, provide information, and for you to the meet the officers,” police added.
