The Ripon Police Department is looking for families in the community that could use a little bit of help during the holiday season.

On Wednesday, the agency put out a call to the community for its support of the annual Christmas Present Delivery program that strives to ensure that even struggling families are able to celebrate Christmas – asking for new and unwrapped toys and clothing to be delivered to the lobby of the department over the course of the next month.

The cutoff for donations will be Dec. 15 to allow the presents to be delivered on Dec. 22.

In addition to asking for presents, the agency has requested that the public make recommendations for families that could benefit from the program – hoping that with Ripon’s outsized spirit of giving they will be able to sponsor multiple families in the community this holiday season.

Any Ripon families that may be able to benefit from the extra help this Christmas – or anybody who may know a family that would be a worthy beneficiary of the effort – are asked to contact Community Service Officer Forks at 209.599.0271, or by emailing SantasHelpers@cityofripon.org. The deadline for families wishing to participate is December 15 to ensure that all presents can be sorted, wrapped, and prepped for delivery.

Any toys or clothing intended for the program can be dropped off at the Ripon Police Department – located at 259 N. Wilma Ave. – inside of the 24-hour lobby.
