The Ripon Unified School District announced 17 new hires and six resignations or retirements at Monday’s school board meeting.

New to the district are teachers’ Alejandra Gutierrez, Kelly Engel and Eileen Johnson.

They’re joined by substitute teacher Tony Silva and seven instructional aides – Christopher Lawrence, Mariana Gutierrez, Vanessa Jaurequi, Kailee Jackson, Kelly Atkins, Jamie Thommes, and Mackenzie Reading.

Wendy Deulas was added as a crossing guard / yard duty while Jesus Alvarez Esquivel and Nicholas Fereria were brought on as custodian and substitute custodian, respectively.

Hailey Nussbaumer and Samantha Nolan are the newcomers to the Ripon Afterschool Program at Ripon Elementary School.

Rene Lopez, in addition, is the walk-on coaching assistant for the Ripon High boys’ volleyball program.
