Shuttered car wash reopening next month

Splash Car Wash & Detail is scheduled to open in Manteca by late August.

Coming soon: Splash Car Wash & Detail.

Located at 1810 E. Yosemite Ave., this new Manteca business is occupying the 32,000-square-foot lot and former home to Showtime Car Wash.

Ruby Sidhu and his brothers, Randy Brar and Sunny Singh, are looking forward to offer flex service and full-detail car washing options for those traveling or residing along the Gateway of Yosemite on East Highway 120 off Highway 99.

They’ve targeted late August for the grand opening of Splash.

Sidhu, Brar and Singh – all three reside in the Manteca-Lathrop area – are no stranger to the car wash business. Within the past three years, they’ve opened Mendocino Avenue Car Wash & Detail Center in Santa Rosa and Suds Carwash & Detail in El Dorado Hills.

In both cases, they took over existing car wash facilities. And with great success – both places are popular at their respective locations.

Sidhu is hoping for much of the same for Splash.

As for the work ahead?

Converting the former Showtime location – the abandon car wash was infested with weeds, graffiti and trash after a few years of neglect – called for gutting out the 3,000-square-foot building coupled with upgrades estimated somewhere “between $1.5 million to $2 million,” he said.

Once completed, Splash will have the look a resort-like features with quality full-service, flex and express similar to that of the two car washes in Santa Rosa and El Dorado Hills.

The flex car wash will combine express exterior and full-service type car wash.

“We’ll offer a boutique high-end car wash,” said Sidhu, who added that flex means the option of doing everything including upholstery, shampooing, steam cleaning, hand wash, etc.

The ownership group is looking to create up to 30 to 40 jobs, from management positions on down (e-mail sparklescarwash2@gmail.com for more information).

Splash will also offer discounted rates for seniors and families of veterans and law enforcement.

“We are here – our children go to school here,” said Sidhu on the having ownership group being part of the community.

Speaking of which, Splash will look to sponsor the local schools with a “Wash for School” program. Sidhu added that this same program has been used at his Santa Rosa (Mendocino Avenue) and El Dorado Hills (Suds) sites, with a certain percentage of the car washes going back to the schools.
