They’re young music students who are still in the beginning stages of learning to play their instruments.
But thanks to Ripon Unified Music Director Sarah Gaipa, the group consisting of Thomas Assad, Rafael Malfabon Silva, Fatima Calderon, Jayleen Chandar, Apollo Pasala and Mahdi Ali has come a long way in such a very short time.
“I was impressed (with them) after five days,” said Gaipa, who is in charge of the Summer Beginning Strings Program.
Her students performed at Tuesday’s school board meeting in the Council Chambers, starting off by plucking their violin strings before taking playing several numbers using the bow.
