Love In the Name of Christ – or Love INC of Manteca – will meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, 815 Lathrop Road.

A partnership of local Christian churches, Love INC was organized to meet the needs of low income, needy families and individuals trying to make ends meet by pooling their effort and resources.

 The group’s mission statement is “to mobilize the church to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ.”
Love INC’s motto is: “To help churches help people.”

The board of directors will discuss the purpose of Love INC and, specifically, how the program operates.

They’ll also cover how individuals and church groups assist by volunteering to answer phones, help out with general office work, or provide assistance with one of Love INC of Manteca’s “gap ministries” such as collecting and distributing clothing, furniture, household items and linens.

 Other options for volunteer work include transportation, budget counseling, and prayer ministries.

The meeting will take place in Room 206 at Calvary Community Church.

Those interested in becoming part of this endeavor should make plans to attend the Love INC session.
